WE’RE JAMMIN’

21/10/15 4:38 PM

It Started with a Fig sounds like a great title for a book, doesn’t it? Lori Golding, our newest artisan, named her home-based business just that, like the start of a good story. She uses mostly local fruit to make 20 flavors of jam. “24 Carrot” includes pears, pineapple, nutmeg and other spices, which she says, “tastes like Thanksgiving in your mouth.” Another jam, “Miss American Pie,” makes a superb apple topping for pork or ice cream. Try these unusual jams as a topping for meat, or stir into plain yogurt, or use as fillings for pastries.

It’s a pleasure to welcome Lori to Old Beach.

And come get seaside oysters in the shell from Jubilee Seafood this week. These briny Eastern Shore wonders taste like the ocean itself. Available in bags of 25, 50 or 100.

Stop by and say hello, y’all.
